It is no doubt that family life within the Eastern world is diminishing at an alarming rate. As of late, we have seen greater detachment amongst family members within the East that can be attributed to a number of reasons.
In the era of globalization, it is common to witness a clash of cultures, where traditional values and new ideologies collide head on with each other. Observing the situation from a rational point of view, it is easy to witness the fact that more and more families in the Eastern world are beginning to adopt a global culture that, while makes them seem sophisticated, slowly erodes away the bonds that hold a family together. Instead of moving together as a cognitive unit, family life is now virtually non-existent, with members opting for isolation in pursuit of personal freedoms. Such factors can not only be seen in the youth, but also the elderly, who believe that while they do have responsibilities that need to be catered to, they themselves deserve some personal space.
By being bound in traditional Eastern customs and cultures, families begin to feel frustrated and seek to break away from bonds that hold them down and do not present a classy image to society. It is because of this that most families often accept those customs that, while making them look chic and trendy, ultimately diminish family life as we know it.
