Meaning and Importance of Mandala Art – The Mandala Art Therapy

Mandala art is one of the most creative arts which connect man to his inner self. Mandala is a Sanskrit word which means circle. In order to create a Mandala we draw a circle and then make different images in it in a symmetrical way so that they have a special center point. These images can be anything from objects or shapes of nature which inspire us to any incident which we always visualize when we sit back and involve ourselves in meditation.

We all know that we have certain hidden wishes, apprehensions, weaknesses and capabilities in our subconscious mind. In order to make our personalities sound we need to indulge ourselves in a conscious effort to bring all these forces in harmony with each other. This can be accomplished successfully through Mandala art because while creating a Mandala pattern we involve our mental, physical, spiritual and nervous energies at the same time to express our inner thoughts in a symbolic and uniform way. As a result we reflect on our past experiences, relate them to the present and chalk out an optimistic plan for the future. It gives answers to our many queries and confusions which if not attended consciously, seem to tear us apart.

Thus, Mandela art is more than just an art. It gives a meaning to our life and our relationships.
