There have always been some curious souls in the society which aspire to do something productive in life which would change the life of downtrodden people at large. The study of the life of great leaders like Nelson Mandela teaches such individuals how to catapult themselves to the achievement of their goals.
Mandela, very bravely struggled against the curse of racial segregation that was legalized by the then government of South Africa. In order to weaken his activities the government brought charges of sabotage against him and imprisoned him for more than 20 years. However, Mandela did not give up. As soon as he was released from jail, he started working devotedly for democracy based on equality of all races in South Africa so much so that he became the first president elected through a democratic election.
The utmost efforts and sacrifices on the part of Mandela won him tremendous awards. He, no doubt is an example for the less privileged classes of society. He is a source of hope for them that if they commit themselves to attain their rights, no one can stand in their way.
His words are like valuable gems which can change our lives altogether. He said,
''The man is not he who never feels afraid, but he who conquers his fears.''
